Just wanted to add- top universities have enough historical data to compare IB/A levels w.r.t the outcomes of their students and have decided 40-42 point is equivalent to A*AA-A*A*A

You'd have to ak them - I think there are various reasons to do with how content compares.

Top universities may say they value all-rounders but for some of their very specialised courses like STEM/MED/DEN they want specialists with a focus on relevant subjects.

I think this why the offers are relatively high for IB imo.

Law is a general subject and I would suggest one of the most useful subjects at A levels is ironically maths.

+1. Some people find it hard to sit back and let children make mistakes. Without giving personal details on here, I can say now that I recommend this approach more than ever. They will find their own way.

Don't we all have some regrets? Or at least anyone with any intelligence and self-awareness does. Part of life, surely?
