Well dd took the exam.
She said it was hard, many kids found it hard. Some kids asked 'what was that?'
She reckons she improved on her mock grade but now we just have to wait and see.

It is a very hard paper, 62%? raw score is top grade "A".Tracy wrote:Well dd took the exam.

DS1 was concerned that a bad result might blot his copybook, I said no, as his A-level maths result would be more important.
O/T just had a similar problem with DD, in year 5, who was given a KS2 level 6 maths paper. I'm all in favour of challenging able children but they do need a lot of support when they sit a paper and can only answer half the questions.
Re: OCR FSMQ additional maths 6993 advanced level
Well it's nice to know that others found it hard.
I think my dd would be happy with any pass on this paper as she's not doing maths A level.
Full marks for taking it and not giving up.

DD just missed an 'A' in her mock so would be happy to repeat that. However, she said the last question on the paper was a total mystery to her...no idea what they were talking about! Overall she said it was 'mixed' - the first part OK, the latter parts not. I think this mirrored what others thought of it at her school.
