I'm really not sure re deferring as she hasn't been offered a midwifery place ? Maths is always good but not essential a science more so. I would ring and ask midwifery admissions not general admissions and I doubt vey much she could transfer midwifery doesn't work like that as it's competency based and you work and study at the same time ? :? Good luck x

Really great advice Nickiveg - we could do with a whole section devoted to 'Top Tips' from admission teams. I have a friend who's a midwife, but hasn't known as much about actually getting on a course. GD is driving so I'll suggest she finds some sort of placement ahead of the next lot coming up next year.

Whoop whoop! My DD got into midwifery through clearing. So happy.
Thanks for all the advice, it's been an anxious wait.
She got very good grades for her A2's and I think that probably helped her.
Got 2 going to Uni this year now!
