Haven't read the whole thread but is this A* percentage set in stone? My son is exceptional at maths and has been entering and winning 16+ nationally recognised competitions since Yr 3. However I'll be over the moon if he gets a A in English and French as he really struggles. Is it likely he wouldn't even get an interview because he had two B's but was one of the best maths candidates they had? :?

It seems to me there is a lot to be said for persistence. Someone I know needed 3 A's for uni but got 3 B's. He rang the uni every day until they took him..... got in by explaining that he was the right person for the course etc. etc. No idea how he got away with it but his mum tells me every time I see her, which thankfully isn't often!!!
