Hi all,

I need help with a question from Learning Together test 09 question 73 answer for this question is3 sq root x-2

144---->10

81------>7

49------>5

25------>(----)

Thanks in advance for your help

144---->10 = 10 + 2 = 12 (x 12)

81------>7 = 7 + 2 = 9 (x 9)

49------>5 = 5 + 2 = 7 (x 7)

25------>(----) = 5 x 5 which means the answer is 3 as 3 + 2 = 5 (x5)


But this is the non mathematical not quite got an O level reply although the answer was the same

144 = 12 x 12, 12 - 2 = 10

81 = 9 x 9, 9 - 2 = 7

49 = 7 x 7, 7 - 2 = 5

25 = 5 x 5, 5 - 2 = 3

Knowledge of square numbers is essential for 11+ maths.

On a separate note, Amandee, the Redbridge VR test is set by GL ASsessment, and Learning Together's resources are not appropriate practice materials for the test. I meant to say that the Redbridge (Essex) test is set by GL, and I have now edited my post accordingly.

Please make sure that you are using the right materials.
