DD is doing fine in most areas apart from comprehension where she struggles. I think that the problem mostly lies with bad engish teaching at her school as her composition work was like Y2 at the start of this year but has improved beyond recognition with our help.

According to her the class teacher reads the text, talks about the answers and then asks them to write them down, so she isn't working with the text - the class are! We have worked through Letts, Bond and Smiths papers but there is very little improvement. I know that the Bond tests are quite hard so that's why we wnt with the others, and even tried age 8-9 Bond (which was OK)!

I know it's late, but wondered if anyone knew of a good tutor who would have a couple of hours (or more) to spare?
