Hi

Can anyone recommend a tutor for my dd who is in year 4. Struggling with both maths and literacy in a large class.

Thanks

Joop

There's a great online maths resource we use - Google - be a whizz at maths and you will find it! Youngest daughter - aged 7 - loves it! Makes the whole thing fun!

If anyone has a recommendation about a tutor, this should be passed on via pm.

People looking for a tutor should be careful to ensure that the person messaging them is not the tutor themselves or possibly an agency, but a parent with actual experience.

How would you do that? I may PM someone using my forum name and then give my real name as the name of the tutor. Is there any way making sure this does not happen?

Not easy on an anonymous forum .....

However, there are a number of long standing members around whose posts I have read and whose judgements I have come to respect. If I received a recommendation from one of them, I would look at it seriously (while still exercising a degree of caution).

If I received a recommendation from anyone 'out of the blue', I would exercise extreme caution! :)
