Hi

Could anyone recommend a tutor for me. I have been let down by my dd primary school and now need to get her some coaching for the test. Could you PM me please.

I have also put this post on the Essex forum but no replies yet.

Thanks

My son has just been awarded Southend. He was bright anyway but there was no way he would have got in without a tutor. His school is very anti 11+ notwithstanding about 7 kids passing 11+ , I believe they all had tutors. The school is very hypocritical - will not help with 11+ at all and yet when it comes down to SATS (which benefit school and not pupil) it can't do enough. Just also found out the headteacher sent her children to Brentwood private school - says it all!.

We had two tutors. The first who we used for 12 months turned out to be inadequate and I would steer clear. Lady of around 30 years who tutors 11+ as a full time job.

We then moved to Kip Mcgraph in Shenfield. Can't rate them high enough. Son went from dreading 11+ to loving it. He breezed into Southend.

Genuine recommendations by PM only (private message) are acceptable - but beware of the possibility that someone who appears to be offering a recommendation may in reality be engaged in self-promotion! Please let us know if you think anyone is abusing the system by soliciting for business or 'spamming'. (It's easy to report a possible problem: just click on the 'report button' - the red exclamation mark.)

Always treat recommendations from unknown persons with caution. However, there are many long standing members (check the date of joining and number of posts) who make a valuable contribution to the forum. If you receive a recommendation from one of them, it could be worth considering seriously (while still exercising a degree of caution).

If you receive a recommendation from anyone else, please exercise extreme caution!
