Dear Members
Can anyone please recommend a good 11+ teacher in the Croydon or surrounding area who has a high success rate. By “good teacher”, I mean someone who knows how to put his/her message easily across to even the below average kids .I know it is down to the student to work hard as well and contribution from parents, however there are some good teachers out there who can be the difference between just passing and getting through.

Currently my son is having tuition with someone who just gives homework and get one of his older ex-student to correct them. I tried several time to get him to explain all the questions which my son got wrong and those I don’t know myself but he would not be able to do it.

So I am looking for someone who would understand where my son’s weakness is. I am quite confident in helping my son in maths but not in the others mainly NVR and VR.
I will appreciate a response from anyone who knows a good teacher and especially those whose children have succeeded previously.

Kind regards

JR :)

We try to keep the forum as safe as possible - we don't allow tutors or tutoring organisations to be openly recommended, because it attracts posts with fake recommendations ('dodgy' advertising solely designed to solicit business on the internet).
It is also not unknown for unscrupulous competitors to 'plant' posts seeking to denigrate the opposition!

Genuine recommendations from forum members by PM only (private message) are permitted - but be aware of the possibility that someone who appears to be a 'helpful parent' offering advice may not be all they seem! There could be an ulterior motive.

Always treat recommendations from unknown persons with great caution.
However, we have many long standing members (check carefully the date of joining and number of posts) who make a very valuable contribution to the forum. If you receive a private recommendation from one of them, it could be worth considering.

Please let us know if you think anyone is abusing the system by soliciting for business or 'spamming'.
It's easy to report a possible problem - just click on the red exclamation mark that appears with every post and PM: Image
