Thought this was interesting - particularly the age that some parents are prepared to start tuition!

Thanks Jules01 - very interesting but alarming reading.

I find the idea of coaching children for the 11+ from the age of six just dreadful. The tutor quoted (earning £2,000 per child for her services) says that she won't take children younger than that because they're just too young, but I wonder how she arrived at the ideal age as being 6!! (Let me guess - "Villa in Spain = number of children x number of hours x hourly rate x number of years coached", or thereabouts?)

The book on appeals quoted can be found by a quick search on Amazon, but at £18.99, that isn't cheap either. Anyway, I would imagine most appeal panels are aware of its existence, and any attempt to use one of the standard letters would get a fairly dusty response from a panel. Has anyone actually seen a copy?
