Mill Hill County High School reasoning results out today

Post by mw55pcz »

We received a letter this morning. DS scored 122 in the reasoning test. The top pupils scored 123 or above, so she will not be recalled for the second tests. Did anyone who got through get their scores?

Yes got ours..........114
We didn't really expect to get into the second round and it wasn't our 1st choice, so not too disappointed.

What does the score 123 mean? Roughly how many % is correct? Not quite clear about the scores.

Wow,that's a big drop from 2 years ago! When my eldest DD sat it in 2008 only those with over 138 were called back!
Have they changed something?

Last year my DD sat Mill Hill, you had to score 138 or more out of a possible 141 to be recalled to the second test.

Every thing has changed; son sat Mill Hill 2 years ago scored 139 in NVR - this year despite calling test General Reasoning, the paper was verbal
However DD has scored 134 this year in VR and doing second round on 4th

I cannot account for difference in scores - i would very much doubt that 2010 children are less able, possibly NVR was easier test 2 years' ago, possibly NVR is the typical child's strength sitting Mill Hill or children were caught off-guard this year as were expecting NVR (I know we were!) or that this year's VR was actually harder than some of the children taught on the day

Can anyone confirm the second round is maths and Abstract reasoning - can we take this to be maths and NVR or where does English fit in? :|
