It certainly does, though I must say my son did not enjoy the music exam (2nd part). Comparing to DAO the atmosphere was quite stiff and intimidating. He was 3rd on the music waiting list for DAO, which was quite a success considering the amount of kids applying, but became to upset at QE to play one of the scales he knew for ages. He was Grade 5 at the time and eventually passed on academic basis.I suppose music gives you a better chance of getting in.
From up to day experience (Year 7) I am not impressed wit music at QE . It is OK and certainly better thatn some schools , however if you think seriously about music DAO is probabely a better choice.

qe is not as good as you think i myself go there and broke my leg because i forget my gumshield they made me run round a double rugby pitch for 2hours non stop and every time i walked or stopped they gave me an extra hour of after skool detention
