Age standardisation- KenR please help!!!!

Post by Helena »

How does age standardisation affect very premature children?

My son was 14 weeks early & has lost marks as a result?

Has anyone any advice on appealing? Thanks.

Age standardisation (for the purpose of KE tests) takes into account the relative age within the school year. If a child is born in september - whether they were premature or 2 weeks overdue- they have an advantage over a child born the following august.

Hi Helena

Suggest you post on the Appeals part of the site. I'm aware of previous parents with similar problems.

Make sure you read the Appeal Stickys first before posting.

You will need to provide more information when you post, viz.

(a) schools applied for
(b) Exam mark achieved.
(c) pass mark or marks required
(d) Exact age of child
(e) any other circumstances
