Gathering Evidence of Achievement
Can anyone tell me the percentages of children who get a Level 3 in KS1 SATs for Reading, Writing and Mathematics? I'm trying to build up some academic evidence for a 11+ appeal. My daughter is predicted straight Level 5s for KS2. Do you know where to get national figure here too?
Many thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

Hi,
The figures for children achieving KS1 Level 3 for 2005 are 23%, 27%, 15%, 23% and 25% for Speaking, Reading, Writing, Maths and Science respectively. The figures are slightly different for Boys and Girls. These are published on the dfes web site:-
see http://www.standards.dfes.gov.uk/perfor ... ?version=1
Results for other Government KS levels are are published on the site.
You can also get some further information about the KS2 and KS3 Standardistion process on the qca website
see http://www.qca.org.uk/downloads/qca-06- ... eshold.pdf
and http://www.qca.org.uk/250.html
Hope this helps

You really need the 2003 figures - that's the year your child sat these tests - in Bucks the figures are higher so beware of quoting national figures. I do know that approximately 25% of all pupils at KS2 get 3 level 5s - not all these children are in Grammar Schools.
As an ex-teacher the KS2 levels told me far more than the VR score ...

You will need to look elsewhere for the Buckinghamshire %s - you could ring County Hall
