Appeal this Monday (27th April)!!!

Post by keane34 »

We are just going through our presentation one more time before our appeal on Monday and I have come across this problem. When the Grammar School we are appealing to sent out the date of the appeal they included a sheet of paper headed 'Guidance Notes for Parents'. The third point states that . . . 'Before the meeting which deals with your appeal you will be sent a written statement which explains why your child has not been allocated a place at this school'. We haven't received this. Does anyone know if this is an important document for us to have with us at the appeal.

The point is that there should be absolutely no doubt why you have been refused a place (e.g. your child scored X but needed to score Y, or you live Y miles from the school but needed to live within the cut-off distance of Z miles). This information ought to be in the appeal papers anyway.

I shouldn't worry so long as you are clear what it is you are appealing against.

Hope this helps.

Good luck tomorrow.

Thanks Etienne. We're clear about our reason for the appeal (non-qualification), just wanted to make sure we're not missing anything. Looking forward to tomorrow afternoon when it will all be over!
