Attainment tables

Post by dissapointed mum »

Does anybody know how to find out how a particular private school does academically as the DFES does not hold attainment tables for these schools.
Is it just a case of contacting the school in question, or will ofsted have the results.
Just thinking ahead for senior school, incase of appeal failure for 11 +
Thanks

The prospectus is often on their website or 'The good school guide' from a library will contain the results.

There will be no value added analysis though - results can be [and often are] 'massaged' by not entering pupils who will fail.

Grammars are also known to refuse to enter students for exams if they don't think they will get a good enough grade. Its most noticable at A level however, rather than GCSE but it still does happen with the latter!

Hi

Do you mean primary or senior independent schools
if senior then the only tables would be the GCSE and A level tables - can't say I would take much notice of anything else though many independent schools will produce their KS3 scores individually
