Is there anyone out there who's child has complained about the insufficient time allowed by the invigilator for the last two sections of the NVR paper? The affected children were those in the smaller group that sat the exams in the building in the courtyard with the clock on the outside.

Yes, DS said NVR time was insufficient.

Irene - what are your plans to raise this problem as this seriously jeopodises chances of even passing 11+ let alone gaining high enough marks to get in.

I wonder is it a new idea to devide NVR into separated timed sections?
A new format?

Have a look at Surrey section. Exactly the same situation with Nonsuch test.
They had "12 minutes for each of the 4 sections, where the first 3 minutes are for the explanations and sample questions".

As far as I know NVR tests have always been split into timed sections. Certainly they have for the last few years while my children have been doing the 11+

Tracy - both. Insufficient time to finish the sections - heh could anyone do 18 questions in 4 minutes? and yes timing was wrong in both section 3 & 4 by the invigilator

Irene - splitting the time makes into 9 minute sections puts even more pressure of our children. This compounded with reducing the time to 4 minutes makes it neigh on impossible for anyone to complete the task let alone a 10 year old. Anyone tried doing 18 questions in 4 minutes and managed it? Or perhaps lets try 18 questions in 5 minutes on the next section! I feel so sorry for my child at having to be put through this after a lot of hard work. I will be reporting it to KCC first thing tomorrow.
