difference between review and appeal

Hi. With Bexley was wondering the difference between review and appeal. Information supplied from them mentions a HT review but not an appeal.

Thanks Etienne had read that info but still a bit confused. Our School Admissions Booklet indicates the possibility of requesting a HT review after the results have been published but does not mention the appeal process in this respect. As an HT Review is not able to consider any additional circumstances other than academic, should there not be an option to go straight to appeal

In Bexley, unbeknown to most of us, we used to have a HT's review before the results were given to the parents. Due to the quick turnaround of results now, there is no time for that HT's review so are invited to request one if you think your child has underperformed. If you do this you must name a grammar school on your caf in order to be considered for that school. You must get as much academic evidence as you can to support your case.

With the old system, to be successful at review stage in Bexley, your child had to be working to level 5b in at least english and maths for the review to be successful. I have this info on very good authority, and apparently those levels are the same now. The chances of a succesful review are minute.

After the review, if unsuccessful, you have the chance to go to an independent appeal panel. Chances here are also slim but it can be done.
