Warning to recap your evidence

Post by Y »

A friend has just come back from her Buckinghamshire appeal. The chairwoman appeared not to have read any of this friend's significant medical evidence. Don't assume they've either read the paperwork, or can remember what was in it....

I can only endorse this! Our panel had certainly not read our case notes or the Ed Psych report - even the LA rep intervened on our behalf twice!

If there is a significant piece of evidence, it would certainly be wise to highlight it during the presentation ........

Don't be afraid to take them through your letter of appeal. It's a good idea to refer to the supporting evidence as you go along, but make it easy for them to follow: "If you turn to such-and such document, the first page, second paragraph ......." (pause until you see that everyone has found the right place) "...... you'll see that ....."
