can anyone advise on the relative difficulties of vr papers
my son has done 3 tests in last week and scored:
92% gl paper 11a
78% susan daughtrey p3
96% tutors p9
are the susan daughtrey ones harder? and which is most similar to the real thing (we are in essex as i appreciate that may vary)

Dear Chelmsfor Dad
Yes there is a difficulty order:
AFN reasonably easy
The Tutors [12 full tests] middle range, starting off quite easy]
Shop bought Nfer/GL assesment , only use 15 of the 21 types and are a tad easier than the real tests.
Susan Daughtrey [packs of 4 tests] about the same difficulty as the real tests.
Walsh quite hard, I use these a section at a time for practice, not as a full test.

Dear Sally Herts
The Dame Alice Owen website, offers Athey as practice, but goes on to say:
This standardisation is based on extensive testing undertaken by the provider.
Athey, do not get involved with standardistion, but Nfer do, therefore it looks as though the test provider is probably Nfer/GL assesment. Are you able to ring the school to ask who publishes the test?

Patricia, thank you. It all makes sense now! (I'm such a novice.)
I did try to ring last week, but ended up in some circular phone loop! I think they discourage phone calls. I'll maybe email instead.
There's such a veil of secrecy, though. I'm so grateful for this website, as if you don't have a tutor, there's almost no chance of unraveling it all.
