APPEALS AND SCAF
Does anyone have any advice on how to list my choosen schools on scaf??I intended to appeal in March for my DD and will putting her first choice of grammar school first on the list.(she failed kent test appealing for non qualification)I then intend to put two High School as second and third and another GS as fourth. How does this work and what implications will it have if she is offered a place for first choice high school??Stressing as got to be in by friday!!! She does prefer second and third choice HS to fourth choice GS)
Always put your schools down in the genuine order of preference. If you put a grammar that your child didn't qualify for first, you won't get it but you'll be given choice number 2 if you meet that criteria. You accept that place so that you have a school place.
Then you can appeal to your first choice and, if you get it, you reject the one you have already been given.

Generally agree, but you may need to play the percentages. If you did not qualify (for selective) probably best not to put more than 1 or perhaps 2 selective schools on your CAF, unless you are absolutely certain you will get into your favoured non-selective. May also be best to select a least over-subscribed GS, rather than a difficult to get into GS.Tracy wrote:Always put your schools down in the genuine order of preference. thanks for all the helpful advice everyone.Been to another GS tonight and daughter likes this too!!!(cant cope anymore!!!)So think i am going to put first and second choice as grammar schools and third and fourth as HS!! As i understand GS will be turned down, hopefully she will be awarded a place at one of the HS which i will accept, then go to appeal for GS and wait for outcome!!!!???What happens if HS also turned down though!! this seems a bit of a gamble, you could in theory have to appeal for HS place as well!!!
