Good Luck
Just thought I would say Good luck to all those taking the Sutton Grammar test tomorrow. I know how nerve racking it can be for parents (hopefully not too bad for boys?)
Make sure you leave plenty of time to get there - the traffic is heavy most days, but worse on Saturdays.
Don't try and park near the school!!
Anyway, hope it all goes smoothly for all concerned!!

Hope the exam went ok for everyone today and the boys didn't get too wet as was tipping it down at the end.
My eldest ds supported one classroom of boys sitting the test this afternoon and it all seemed to go smoothly with no upset. He told me he did the maths paper to see what is was like (think it was preferable to revising for his mocks ) but drew the line at verbal reasoning!

Hello everyone,
The day went well for us.Ds seemed calm, which doesn't fill me with hope because of the possibilty of the increased level of careless mistakes.
Ds was given an afternoon slot and me being a stickler for time and not knowing sutton too well, set off really really early .We wre there by 11.30 and managed to eat and roam around calmly.
I wanted to make sure i parked safely in a m-storey parking.i had considered calling the school to ask if i could park in their"no go" area because my dd has special needs and does not do walking or waiting in strange places and is generally easily stressed.
Anyway i realized later while waiting for the test, that alot of people had not bothered about the so-called "no-go" area -the traffic was horrendous, with people being dropped off in the middle of the road and big4x4's trying to reverse out of roads!
Surreymum what zone was your son in,mine was in zone 5 ? It was a nice small group.
Hope it went well for everyone else.
Now our focus has to turn to nvr and vr because of the wandsworth test and tiffin.
Sorry,i have just seen the length of this rambling post

Hi Shaftsbury1
Glad your son was calm as hopefully he will have done his best. My son was looking after boys I think in room 5, don't know if that is the same as zone 5. I think there were about 12 in the group and I do know what their surnames began with but won't post publicly unless you wish me to......

Shaftesbury.. did you speak to Sutton re your son's special needs? We did and they were incredibly helpful, can't fault them at all. We were met at the corner of the road by a prefect ( lovely, charming lad) who escorted my son straight in avoiding the stress of the crowds. He has Tourettes and would have had a meltdown.

No i didnt call the school as it is my younger daughter who has the special needs and yes she did have a meltdown after waiting in the queue!
i ended up waiting 3 hours in the car for her to calm down.
To give the school credit, i did ask to look round the school during the day, last july, when dd was at her school. They were extremely flexible and ds and i had a good look around during a working day.
Wilsons,on the other hand completely refused and the Head said we could see the school when ds did t1he test .Not very understanding of our situation at all
