Help need a geographer
Hi,
Our combined efforts as a family cannot solve my year 7 daughter's homework. Geography was always my most loathed subject though so perhaps its a genetic flaw.
Its longitude and latitude. She understands the concept but we have been given a list of coordinates for various cities and we have to say where they are and they will form a word.(there's 10)
Firstly we do not have a good enough Atlas but even using a L&L finder on the internet, we are finding ourselves just outside kabul and then in a tiny village in turkey. So we must be doing it wrong.
Any geographers out there?

or maps.google.com are your friends.
or really go for it and use Google Earth.

Animis opibusque parati
Have you got them round the wrong way? Or got north/south upside down?
Do post the clues and we can all play!

has a good list of cities (not Kabul though!) and shows some interesting facts, such as Birmingham being further north than Warsaw...

We've had this homework, some of the places were not quite in the correct spot. The word along the bottom is searchlight (I think) and one of the clues devil's bathroom was Helsinki, Ankara was the Turkish boat, Tokyo was the Konichiwa girls.
Edit: DD found this hard too.
The cold place was Santiago. I don't think I helped with any more
