Bucks Appeal -119

Post by Shelly8 »

Hi,

Had a meeting with HM this morning. He is very supportive.
We feel that we should proceed with the Appeal.

She got 116 and 119.

Sally-Anne or Etienne, please can I PM you some more details? I'm not sure how much to put on here?

Thanks.

Some more details:

1. DD got 116 and 119.

2. HM predicted a 2:1.

3. Her CAT’s from Yr 4 are not that good – although they are “above averageâ€

Hi Shelly8

On 119 you do not have a great deal to prove, although the panel will be looking at the 116 and asking which score is most representative. At least the scores are going in the right direction: 116, 119 ... if there was a third test (as there used to be) ....?

The Head is right to ask her to do the CATs again. Remember that if the results are worse, you do not have to submit them - you do not have to submit any evidence that might undermine your case. What were the Year 4 CATs scores?

The Head's recommendations seem pretty accurate, so that works in your favour. The 2:1s could be a touch higher, but 60% is pretty good. The 1:1s reflect well on him/her though.

The carelessness is worth a brief mention at the appeal hearing - let the panel ask more questions if you want. I would describe it along the lines of "seems to have had some difficulties accurately transposing her correct answers on to the answer sheet, which could have led to an occasional slip up", or words to that effect.

Hi Sally-Anne,

CATs results:

VER 118
QUANT 111
NON-VER 102.

As I said, not very good!

Hi Shelly8

I would leave them out - and ask the Head to do the same on the summary sheet.

Hi,

DD did the CAT's again last week:

VR = 122
QA = 141
NV = 105.

Should we include both for the appeal to show quite an improvement from last year, or just the latest ones?
Predictions are: English - 5C, Maths - 5B and Science - 5B.
An excellent report from the HT.
