Tiffins girls

Post by mum10 »

We are planning to move to the Kingston area with daughter at Tiffins and son at KCS wimbledon. What would be a good area to live for my daughter to walk to school and for my son to have a direct bus to school? Thanks :Djavascript:emoticon(':D')

It really depends how far your daughter will walk to get to Tiffin or your son will walk to get to the bus for KCS. Large parts of North Kingston especially the streets that lead off from Richmond Road going up towards Ham are ideal for short walk to Tiffin Girls but the school is also very well served by the regular 65 bus which stops just outside. North Kingston would mean your son would need to walk to the bus station or take a short bus ride to pick up the Wimbledon bus.

From the houses close to Tiffin Girls, it would take over an hour by public bus to kcs wimbledon... not sure why it takes so long but that's according to www.tfl.gov.uk

The suggested route uses the 371 and 57.

Maybe somewhere near Kingston/Norbiton Station would be good and he could get the train.

Also...There is a private coach service run by/for KCS. You should ask them for details. This is likely to be much less stress than using the public services.

Houses don't come cheap in North Kingston.

Twickenham is a 40-45 mins journey to Tiffin Girls. Nearer to Kingston, you could try Hampton Wick and Teddington (which is lovely) and about 35 mins from the school. Ham is right on the school's doorstep, has a good range of housing from the very modest to the positely palatial. But check train stations if you need a commuter link as that might limit your choice.

You might try taking an A-Z and do a recce. Driving around Richmond first, into Petersham along to Ham, then Kingston (sat nav may help with the one way system as can be tricky), then over Kingston bridge into Hampton Wick and Teddington. Phone estate agents first to get a list of houses that fit the bill to get an idea. Good luck.

There is also a school bus that runs between Chessington and Tiffin Girls with limited stops inbetween at Surbiton and Kingston could be useful for your son as well as you could look at Surbiton for property too
