pretty sure they don't know. - no reason for them to have access to the info .. they will be waiting to hear from the kids and parents...

Our Indie was  the head knidly phoned and asked if I wanted the news as DS was at school before the post arrived and the online system failed. I think she was keen to share the good news. :) Most LEA's produce a timeline document, here is ours for my next round with DS2,
Secondary and Primary Schools informed of final allocation
21 February 2011
Allocation letters sent to parents
1 March 2011
Nooooooooooo.

Can I ask, where did you find that info? And is it available for this year?

You could try contacting your Local Authority or looking at their website. I'm sure you will be able to find that info there.

I am a it obsessive so I search my local LEA, Reading Borough Council for any scraps of information. The timeline document has been similar for most recent years. I look at Education, Schools, Admissions, Admissions Forum and anywhere else that looks interesting.

Knowing that they may know doesn't help.

Does your school know before you?

Boy, I would be really cross if I found out that our school knew eight days before we did. Especially as I just found out today that we wont hear until March 2nd now instead of March 1st. But come to think of it I remember a Y6 parent teling me that the school knew before she did when her dd was in a feeder school for the lcoal Catholic secondary. I think they should be told but not before the parents
