Tutors Verbal Reasoning ambiguities
I have just completed the Tutors Verbal Reasoning 'move a letter' test with my son and spotted several questions with ambiguous answers.
question 9 - sleep/sheep
question 15 - sting/singe
question 18 - ahead/heard
question 19 - boats/bloat
question 22 - slat/seat
question 29 - stems/steam
question 39 - sham/harm
ALL these questions were marked as 'wrong' when submitted for marking. I had to explain my son that he had in fact answered these all correctly, but the point is that papers should be crafted in such a way that there can only be ONE correct answer.
It is very disappointing to find such a high percentage of such examples in a product that you have to purchase. Where is the quality control?

just had a look at my copy.
Move a letter type questions need to have BOTH words making sense after the letter has moved
9 their seep.
if you move the H to make sheep it leaves TEIR
15 stare sing
if sting is the correct answer the the first word would become SARE
22 frame head
if the A from frame is moved to give ahead, then the first word becomes FRME..
hope this helps.

Hi,
Just had a quick look at my CD, had similar words.
When you move a letter, you have to have two correct words. Both the word with letter removed and word with letter added must be correct words, I think that solves most of the problems?
My number 9 is different to yours their/seep so sLeep is not an option, so heir/steep move "t" to make two correctly spelt words?
