Latymer Prep -what's next
Did anybody have their daughter go to Latymer Prep and then not go to Latymer Upper? I called around the usual, St. Pauls, Godolphin, but they seems to say that latymer Prep girls do not take their exams, does anybody know why? I do not want to "lock my daughter into this school and than have no options. Any Latymer parents memebers?

my DD is at Latymer Upper and didnt go to the prep so I cant really comment in any useful way but for what its worth my impression is that most of the prep do go on to the Upper but its absolutely not compulsory and surely your child can sit whichever other exams you fancy - maybe its not that common but I cant see why you wouldnt do it
people do seem to love Latymer so maybe its just the fact that most families in the prep want to go on to the Upper and so the situation of applying elsewhere doesn't arise very often

People place their girls at Latymer Prep with the view to transferring to the Upper school. It's one great attraction to avoid the worry and pressure of changing. However not all girls or boys are accepted into the upper school and so go elsewhere but are unlikely to be trying for the highly academic schools the OP is mentioning. Some also may leave for boarding schools.
