Additional Sitting?

Just to put the cat amongst the pidgeons...

I have heard, don't know for sure whether it's true but have no reason to doubt the source, that LSS (& RHS/Ashlawn???) are about to arrange an additional sitting of the 11+ (for 2010 entry) as so many people have recently moved into the area.

I think quite a lot of areas do this for late applicants(either hadn't taken the test or had moved into the area.
North Yorks do this in April, Lancaster have the exam in June

Hi just looked at the number of births by year. Actually dipped in 2000 and 2001 so no real millenium bulge. much higher by 2004.
Actually though the difference between 2000 and 2004 was 5.8% or in an intake of 100 kids it would mean about 6 more kids....

My DD is in year 5 and it has always been a very small year. Indeed she got into her Junior School and was very out of catchment, as were many others in Rugby that year. Although we live in Rugby, we are facing having to move to get next one into a good Infant / Junior School, as numbers have gone up.

Indeed, I am hoping that 2010 will be an eaier year to get into GS.

I am surprised to hear this because in my area of rugby, the 4 nearby junior schools have the average number of year 5s and the nearest primary actually has an extra year 5 class, the only year in the school to have an extra class. So I always thought there WAS a millennium baby boom.
