Can you please advise on how I can check availability for entrance in Year 9 at John Hampden GS in September 2010? Many thanks.

Did both but no luck! Apparently, allocations are managed by the council. When I phoned the council, I was referred to the web site, but was not able to find any relevant info there.

No can't find the necessary ... at this point Herman would phone the LEA back and be persistent.

I agree. I suspect you didn't get as far as Admissions. Calls are intercepted in the first instance by an adviser who will try to help without putting you through. It doesn't sound as if you were given the right information.

Try emailing admissions@buckscc.gov.uk
or phone and ask the adviser to check the facts with Admissions - or to put you through to them!
