Should terms be longer?
Last week is the first time dd2 has completed a full week at school since term started (virus). She actually called me from the San on the second morning back to say her temperature was 40 degrees - after 4 1/2 weeks holiday! I have just realised today that dd1 will be home from uni in exactly a months time. I have only just got round to washing her bed linen and I am in the middle of decorating said bedroom.
I am beginning to see why the grant/loan goes so far - when the holidays are on dad!

From a selfish point of view, I would hate the school term to be longer. As much as I enjoyed teaching, one of the few perks was the holidays. Working pretty much flat out during term time, I needed a decent amount of time to recover.
OH is still in teaching. Just asked him and he agrees with me.
Spoke to one of the teachers at DC's primary - she doesn't leave school till the caretaker kicks her out and I'm quite sure she wouldn't want term time to be any longer.
As for uni, I wanted it to go on forever; I couldn't wait for the holidays to end.
