Appeal done and dusted - should hear in 1 week

Post by Beki »

Well, it's over with. It was completely nerve-wracking, but nothing that i wouldn't do again if i had to.

There was one not-so-nice thing that i'll talk more about once we've got the result back, but no one else should worry as it was specific to our case.

DD's teacher was simply amazing. He didn't go over-the-top, but he informed them of her ability and grades and said that we were all equally surprised by her VR result, and that her work over the past year that he's been teaching her reflects her true ability, not the 11+ result.

They asked at the end if i wanted to summarise everything, so i said something along the lines of "I hope that you can look past the VR result, and look to DD's overall grades and ability for an accurate picture of her abilty, as it would be such a shame for her to miss out on such a good education for a one-hour test that we feel doesn't reflect her grades."

Her teacher said we did really well, and that we can go away and know that there was nothing more we could have said or done. He's quite hopeful, but i'd say we only have a 50/50 chance :?

Fingers crossed eh! Thank you all so much for your help and support over the last few days, and once we hear back (hopefully by next friday) then i'll let you know and will do a feedback post on the other thread. xx

Well done Beki, it sounds positive!

Look forward to reading your feedback, our hearing too was quite traumatic but again regarding our individual case so wouldn't be like that for hardly anyone else. Will be posting feedback after the results are in, but am still not sure quite how much depth to go in to. Depends on the result I think!

Good luck though for a good outcome :)
