This is probably a very stupid question but if I don't ask then I don't learn anything do I, so, would there be a name change to the school's?

Why would a school want to change if it's not broken?

And now we know that only 153 schools so far have actually applied to change status, how many of them are Bucks schools.

Well as of 23 July the list is:

There was a front page report about the N.U.T.'s opposition to the introduction of Academy status in the Bucks Examiner yesterday. I can't find the report online, but it was mostly political hyperbole.

Among other comments, Dr Fenton (Head of DCGS) was quoted as saying:

" The school will not be changing its name and there will be no change to the school's admissions policy."

The latter point may be one to watch.

If that’s still true in 5 years’ time, Sally-Anne, I’ll eat my hat (not that I have one).

As any fule knows, HT just wants to be able to bend the admissions criteria slightly so he can get more cricketers in. At the moment he can only do that for late entries…

(Despite the headline, John Hampden appear to be still considering.)
