Realistic chances of getting a place

Post by joop »

Hi everyone

I am keen to get a realistic idea of the chances of getting into SWB or JH from experienced members of the forum. We live in rural OCC 12.5miles from both schools. Assuming my son reached the required pass mark, and looking at the allocations from previous years I would stand little chance - is this correct? I have to complete the OCC form which gives 3 choices so I need to be sensible about the choices.

Many thanks

The previous years Allocation profiles will give you a rough idea. I'd look at a few years, not just one as there can be blip years that totally run against trend. 12.5 seems a long way from JH which appears to be getting harder to get into. I don't know about SWB.

The other thing to think about of course to the logistics of getting your child to and from the school every day, plus after-school activities, parent evenings etc

Yes
We live in a rural area so have to drive everywhere, and I work in this direction hence looking at these schools.
