At SHSG times were written up on a board and the children were informed at 15 mins and 2 mins.

When DS forgot his glasses at SHSB they put a clock on a chair next to his desk. He thinks they were told at 1/2 way and 5 mins to go, but it was 3 years ago.

Both of mine (girls) sat it in Chelmsford.I double checked with them and they were told at several points especially with 15, 10 and 5 to go.I am sure this is pretty standard invigilator practice.
Best wishes to you and your son. :D
