Handsworths Boys Grammar
Hi all
Please help ...!!
Anyone know anything about the HGS for Boys 11+? I understand there is a VR and Maths and English test but no NVR.
Anyone know the format of these and the length of the VR as I know the the Maths & English are 30 mins each but not the format?
Will VR be the standard type? Is it Mental maths or more problem solving? What about English? Is it comprehension, punctuation, synonyms, verbs etc?
Please can anyone enlighten me ? Ds been preparing using variety of resources but just wondered if anyone knew anymore about HGS as most threads are about KE or Sutton Grammar Schools.
Thanks

I think it's NFER type, there's a bit of information from a few weeks back if you search around - I think it was fm.

Not a clue, I'm afraid. Use the search facility, I find it works really well.

Hi,
As far as I can recall, they mainly take into account a boy's VR score, and only look at Maths and English if the VR is not strong. This is just info I have read along the journey I'm quite sure someone with more knowledge like fm will come along and correct me....DS didn't actually sit Handsworth.............

Thanks FTM
That's what I have read in their literature and was just wondering what the format/content was of the test in case some additional prep was required from what has been done already. It seems not...
