Sutton Grammar School exam 20th November 2010

Post by 999 mum »

Hi,

How did it go for your DS? Mine find the maths easy, english hard and VR the same level as Letts.

What the organization like? I thought it was good in zones 4 - 9, but I have heard complaints about zone 1 - 3.

My DS said it was OK, by which he meant Maths and English was good but VR was the hardest so far. He has done the Wallington and Wilsons tests and passed both.

Regarding the organisation he did have some complaints:

. A couple of kids came late and this distracted him, in fact a mobile phone of one of the invigilators escorting one of these late children in went off.
. The kids who came in late were given extra time-fair enough-but all the other kids had to stay seated during the extra time which ate into their break time-not fair.
. Invigilators did not tell the kids that during the break they were able to eat the snacks it was suggested they bring with them.
. DS said the room clock was in a position from which he was unable to see it.

It would therefore appear based on what DS told me that the organisation could be improved.

my son found Comprehension the hardest, he said it looked like one from 13+ papers he practiced
at least he read book by the same author before, so felt quite comfortable with the topic

Maths was not too difficult, English writing was fun

VR was hard he said, but that somehow is his worst topic...
