Science in Society versus Religious Education A/AS level
My DD is trying to decide on which of these two subjects to take as one of her AS options. All working out, she is hoping to try for Medicine.
We heard that the ethics aspect in RE may stand her in good stead for Medicine. Do you know anything about "Science in Society" and whether Universities would rate it as highly as other A or AS level subjects? I had never heard of this subject till it was mentioned at her Sixth Form Open Day.

Reckon RE would be better - helps with interviews in being able to discuss ethical issues etc etc.
Re: Science in Society versus Religious Education A/AS level
Would advise against little known subjects - better to go for mainstream like RS

Thanks all.
That was my initial thought - stick to the more traditional subjects.

Just interested, as we are a long way behind you all, but what is "Science in Society"?
Re: Science in Society versus Religious Education A/AS level
The course is described by the Nuffield Foundation as "widely accessible". Newspeak for ....... actually I daren't attempt a definition as I would be vilified!!!
