Thanks to fm
I know that there was a similar thread about this time last year, but can I just say thanks so much to fm for all her(I think that's right!!) postings on this forum. I have "home tutored" my DD who is at state primary. Her junior school does not support idea of doing 11+ (Solihull LEA school - teacher's response in year 5 to my asking if my DD might be grammar school material was to say that he didn't know anything about grammar schools, there weren't any in Solihull, and I'd better look into getting her privately tutored if she wanted to go down that route). I would not have known what "studying" to do with my DD without fm's posts, which were invaluable. DD has very comfortably got into her first choice school.
I'd imagine that there are many private tutors who just do their private tutoring, take the money for that, and that is that. Fm must be genuinely benevolent to spend time posting material on this site for the benefit of those of us who are not going down the private tuition route. A really big thank you for that.

Re: Thanks to fm
Yes, I definitely agree!
Had it not been for FM's pearls of wisdom, I wouldn't have a clue on how to DIY or been able to get 3 of my DC into KE schools.
Thank-you!
...and the 11+ journey begins again...3 down and 2 more to go!

Re: Thanks to fm
Indeed, fm, Ken, Mike and others have been a great help to us self-tutors.
Re: Thanks to fm
Can I also add my thanks to all that havre helped. I was clueless to the process and content needed to be covered to acheive success.
Mirror code, fabionacci (spelling), cube nets, cloze and the lost goes on and on and on, I am sure in some cases being told about these have gained that extra mark or three, which we all know can make or break a place on the list.
Again many thanks for all the guidance and helpful tips and techniques.
We will give KECH our precious DS for the next 7 years (subjetc to final queries).
