Essex Scores 2011

Post by nini »

I rang the Consortium today to find out the cut off point for entry at the Essex Grammar Schools:

On March 1st 2011:

Chelmsford County High for Girls: 344 approximately
Colchester: 329 app
Wetcliff & Southend for girls: (In Borough): 303 app

I hope this helps.

That is helpful - thank you. :D I think it would be helpful if someone would indicate the last position in for these schools if anyone knows. We know 161 got in for Chelms CCHS this year on offer day.So this was different to to other years.
If that was last place in, that is very helpful info to those waiting for places and we already know of 1 place to be given up for CCHS.So anyone know of last positions in ranking offered on allocations day for any of the Essex grammars.
It just helps people to know whether to keep hoping or to really start positively selling the allocated school to their child.

EDIT : We needn't know if it's you - you can say someone I know was 165th and got in etc.We will all never know and the info really helps sets realistic expectations.

Re Chelmsford Girls, I know that 171 (342.959) didn't get in, so it is somewhere between the two.

I was told the last one in to CCHS as at 1st March was position 170, with a score of just over 343.

This will be good news for a number of us, we shall see what the waiting lists bring tomorrow....

I assume the movement in places is limited until ECC receive letters declining places offered?
