12+
Is there a 12+ within the Consortium school?
Or what test do you need to do to get your child into year 8 entry?

Sorry, just answered on the other thread....no, we asked the question when our son did not pass, and was told categorically that there would be no further opportunity to test again, sadly. I specifically asked about 12+, but they would not allow us the opportunity.

This is strange, as a couple of years ago I heard someone managed to get into year 8 at LGS after sitting some tests. There were 3 spaces and 4 children sitting the test.
Might be worth contcting the school your interested in, but think we will have to wait a year

It may have been children new to the area, not having sat the 11+ previously.
I often wondered at the legality of this absolute refusal, it came from a head, however having been through the appeal and to the ombudsman, I had no will left to challenge it.

Presumably sometimes a place becomes available, due to a child leaving. I don't know about the consortium schools, as my daughter is at Kendrick in Reading, but in each of Y8 and Y9 she has had a new girl in her year. They test all applicants for the space.
