Agony???
I would love to hear from parents with young children in boarding school.
Was is the right decision? is the child better educated in a boarding school?
Will the younger child benefit from a boarding school environment when they have an older sibling with training committments?

Re: Agony???
you might be better off putting this in independent schools, or general topics or somewhere where more people will come across it. Hidden in Glos will reduce its traffic!

How young? Mine went at 11 (only just but was in year 7). If this is relevant will offer further info. Younger not so common nowadays though there are a very few preps with full boarding.

Where's Tipsy when you need her? She'll be able to give you a good insight, her boys both boarded, didn't they?

It may be best to explain your situation.
What I would say is make sure that this decision would be prioritising the boarder and not the child with training commitments. Or make sure the child with training commitments is not getting the lions share of your time and effort as your younger child will start to feel like the less important sibling.
Oh and make sure the boarding school is pretty amazing so that younger child has a better time than training child!
