Can my daughter take the 11 plus in year eight

Post by Nickix »

Hi, my ten-year-old daughter has a place at our local comprehensive and is quite happy there. However, I am haunted by the fact that, due to the Pan London entry system, we decided not to put her forward for the eleven plus at Woodford County High School for Girls. A couple of her friends are going there, while no-one in her class is going to the school she has. If it turns out to be the wrong school for her, would it be possible for her to do the eleven plus for Woodford County High School in year eight, should a place become available?

Many thanks for your advice with this.

i dont know that schoolv- you may be better posted in the forum of the area the school is in.

I do know that i many areas dc's can take the 12+ in yr 7 and the 13+ in yr 8. Other schools will let your dc sit an individual entrance test if they have free spaces in the year group. Why not give the schoola call.

Why don't you contact the school and see what their policy is for joining it at a later date?
