11 plus questions format

Post by Joanie S »

I have heard two differing pieces of information about the style of the questions. Some people have told me that there is pattern recognition and shape questions ie dots and shapes and others have said there is not in Bucks...can anyone tell me if there are patterns and not just word codes and mental maths?

Thanks

Dear Joanie S

Firstly welcome to the forum.

There are no shape questions contained in the Bucks 11 plus test.

Take a look at the following link which shows an example of each of the 21 types of questions found in the Bucks tests

Thanks Patricia

My sons tutor had said that there were not any but I was surprised that a tutor who is from Aylesbury school was giving tuition in dot patterns which I have seen used elsewhere. I feel reassured!

Be warned, there are tutors and headteachers out there who may be well meaning and very convincing but who, in reality, know nothing about the Bucks 11+

We spent nearly £500 on tuition which turned out to be utter rubbish
