Thanks Zumba, it is very difficult, have you been to visit the schools again and are you holding a place at both then as you are still undecided ? Good luck with the decision making, do post anything that helps sway your acceptance one way or another.

We haven't been to visit schools again and yes we have said yes to both. Hopefully we will make a decision soon.

Is WGSG Wilimington Grammar for Girls (Kent) or are you referring to a school in Barnet, which indie are you both seeking a comparism with as this would help generate more responses to your post.

Anyone declined Watford Grammar Girls in favour of independent ?
Sorry hermanmunster, new to this site and have been using abbreviation I saw on other threads.

We have had offers from Northwood College and Royal Masonic as well as Watford Girls. Unfortunately, only discovered these forums after all exams/tests/results done and dusted - didn't realise there was so much opinion and information out there.

I thought anyone would be mad to turn down WGGS but just wanted to know if anyone else has been in that position and how they dealt with it as we still have time to make a decision.

Before slagging off the OP - please consider this post was MOVED from the LEA area into which it was first posted and made perfect sense there!

All three schools that you have mentioned are good - all for different reasons - I think the best thing you can do is to decide on which school gave you the better "feeling" - or rather which your daughter felt more comfortable in.

There are subtle differences in the girls that each school turns out - but ultimately make your final decision based on which school you would be happiest to be a part of for the next 5-7 years. They are in essence an extension of your family - or at least a good school should be.
