Petition to extend Kent Freedom Pass to 16-17 year olds

Post by frustrated »

Hi, all

Just to let you know that there is a new petition on KCC website to extend the Kent Freedom Pass to include 16-17 year olds.

My DS's school has just made us parents aware of it, and considering that our children are now expected to stay in education until the age of 18 now I think it would be worthwhile.

Here is the link:

http://democracy.kent.gov.uk/mgEPetitio ... ID=1515767" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

This petition is running until 7th July and currently has around 414 signatures when I last looked.

Please sign it if you agree and spread the word, they need 12,000 signatures.

Thanks :D

Oops, sorry, bit of a boo boo.

It's for 16-20 year olds, not 16-17 year olds :oops:

Word is getting around now. Wonder if anyone could inform their DCs' schools, maybe they might then send a note out to parents?

It was my DS's school that informed me, so maybe other schools might follow suit if they knew.

There was a similar epetition http://democracy.kent.gov.uk/mgEPetitio ... ID=1689106" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It was a little different but not much and KCC are likely to simply refer the outcome of this one to that response. I'll still sign it and share it but the LA do make the rules up as they go along!
