I like this one, but could somebody please explain it to me. I have just sat and read the two flyers put in my letter box and really I am none the wiser  Am I right in thinking even if you are 4th you could come 1st???

Yes.

Will I vote for it? Yes.

What will happen in reality when it is applied? Not sure, initially some confusion but later a move towards consensus politics rather than the existing Punch & Judy show.

think it depends on howm many times you come fourth and if those in 3rd,2nd and 1st place come 8th, 9th and 10th?

Now Herman, this is a serious thread  and that really isn't very helpful :!: I was confused with 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th, let alone 8th, 9th and 10th

Have voted. Am against AV actually. In DH'S words (he does not mince them), it is a waste of money and wouldn't have changed anything in the last 20 years anyway....
Interestingly there are only 2 countries in the world operating this system - I think Australia is one of them and apparently someone told me they are thinking of scrapping it but am not sure about that if they have already spent millions on counting machines?

Honestly if the people you put 1,2 or 3 actually come 8, 9 and 10 in the overall first counts your 1 2 3 votes are ignored and your 4th place will count and might even win!

Is here a better system that someone else is using then? Why are our two choices these ones? And is it because I haven't been paying attention that I know very little about the whole business?
