Post by bromley mum »

I was taught never to start a sentence with the word and. Now, I notice more and more people are doing so. What is your opinion?

And I will try and redeem myself. And I looked on the web for information to why we can't use 'And'. And I hope I am forgiven as I don't want to upset anyone.

5. You should avoid starting sentences with words such as 'Again', 'Although', 'But', 'And', 'Also', and 'With'. These words are called conjunctions, which normally belong in the 'middle' of a sentence, not at its beginning. Sentences which begin with a conjunction are very often left grammatically incomplete.

Sorry BromleyMum...it was all down to 2 glasses of wine and no DH present to rein me in.....

And PChick...you have redeemed yourself ! Again it would seem you are on the ball. But don't do it again !Also we can congratulate ourselves not resorting to making miserable comments re use of grammar .Although of course there was me with my BM comment..I do apologise.Profusely. :)
