Do places get offered off the CI list in the summer holidays

If a place on the CI list becomes available during the summer holidays, do the schools notify you straight away or do you have to wait until September before the admissions staff are back in school and can send out an offer?

I think it's a big IF. It depends on the school. Admission staff may briefly pop into school during the holidays, but may not be able offer places during the holidays as they can't get hold of the relevant families. so may have to wait until the start of term

You always hear that some children don't turn up on the first day of school so places can be offered in the the first couple of weeks of term.

Which school are you waiting for and how close are you to the top of the list ?
