So how many groups of 11 children are in a school of 407?

If you can see this then the rest is straightforward ... have a think.

This is a ratio problem of 5:6 boys to girls. The proportion is 5/11 boys, 6/11 girls

407 has 407/11 groups of children = 37

in each group 6 are girls so number of girls = 6 x 37

407 divided by 11 = 37
6 x 37 = 222
5 x 37 = 185

222 girls
185 boys
